She's my pride and joy (SRV)

Burke's Long Island post the other day where he cruised thru an outdoor car show rekindled my interest. (Thanks Burke) So I just spent the entire weekend cleaning, waxing, and detailing my severely neglected Malibu. I'm even going to enter it in two small car shows over the next two weekends. I haven't done that in years. Used to do it nearly every weekend, but it got boring after a while. Killed my battery listening to Stevie Ray for two days thru some giant pre-amp that my son installed in my trunk back when those things were popular. Maybe that's why I'm nearly stone deaf.

Nice, REAL nice! I love that shade of green. I'm assuming that's the original color?

Thanks. Yes that is the original color. It actually still has the original interior. The cloth seats have faded to the point where it almost looks brown instead of green. The drivers seat finally let loose with fabric worn thin. The car has 128k miles on it. I bought it with 78k on it 16 years ago. I put a new engine in it at 100k. I have a complete set of new pre-sewn seat covers that I plan to have fitted to the seats here in September. I also plan to lay down new carpet since the seats will be at the trim shop for a while. I'm thinking about having it appraised first while it still has the original interior. I will show the appraiser the new interior kit and ask how that will impact the value once installed. Better or worse.... I'm curious.

I like it!

I cut the rear deck out of my car, built a deck out of MDF, enclosures for a pair of 10" subs, and left the pair of 6x9s free-air. Looks factory.

VERY NICE !!! Take your time and finish it. Once it's on the street, you'll look back at the time spent, and realize it was worth it

Schu, that's gotta be my most favoritist color ever, In fact, I painted my then new '67 Honda CL77(305 Scrambler) that color, but then, it was called Willow green(a GM color)

Wow! Nice car! I'd have to close my hood if I parked next to you. Lol. I love the 68-72 Pontiac A bodies.
I had a 72 Lemans Sport convertible with the rubber front bumper and all the scoops. Red with a white interior. 400 small block. It was freshly restored before I bought it, and it looked great for about 3 years..... then all the bodywork started to let loose. I sold it for a profit, so all in all it was a great car for those 3 years. I learned to shy away from restored Michigan cars. My Malibu came from Arizona which makes such a difference. The car simply has no rust. Never did.

Lee that truck is exactly how I would do it. So clean looking. I have a 1970 long block Chevy 350 that came out of my Malibu. It ran fine, but was getting tired. I hung on to it in hopes of finding an early 80s pickup. Doubt I'll ever get to it now that I got hooked on vintage Yamaha Enduros. But hey, I just found out I have my first Grandson coming late October, so maybe I'll just keep it stashed in the corner of the garage....
