I seriously can't express how much I like this. Please tell me you're willing to make a mount for someone (aka me). Also, love the hard case panniers. I have a pair of Pelican 1430's arriving tomorrow that I'll be using. How did you attach them to your bike? I was planning on some u-bolts since I already have the Fehling saddlebag mounts, but I haven't completely decided how I feel about drilling a hole through them.

That's cool 👍
SW Motech makes the kit for the panniers ...
I can walk you through how to build the front fender mount. Cost is about $60 in hardware including the fender. As long as you are somewhat mechanically inclined it was pretty straight forward.

A walkthrough would be fantastic! I'm pretty handy, only semi-common thing I'm not really familiar with tool-wise is a welder, can't quite tell if your design needed one.
Just looked up the pannier kit by SW Motech, looks good. I'll probably have to go with something else though because I just ordered the MAC Performance Scrambler-Style and I think it probably mounts too high for them. Unfortunately the Pelican 1430's looked shitty so I had to send them back.

I like the idea and the bracket is very neat. I just don't like the way the fender points forward. I think one that looked like the Urban G/S's would be ideal.

You had no issues removing lower fender? You mentioned support? I can't see how 1/4" of rolled steel can provide anything to strengthen the ride? Did you fully fabricate that bracket? The elongated run looks official. Trying to tackle this same project soon. Thanks, chris

I believe you could easily make a high fender mount using this bracket as your starting point. I was going to do the change on mine, but I didn't like how much of the trailing part of the fender had to be cutoff to clear the frame tubes. It killed the look in my opinion. Good luck with your high mount, and share photos please.

That's what killed it for me. That drastic shortness / cutoff in the rear of the fender dosen't look good in my opinion. The design of the bracket looks fantastic! Maybe a different fender Mfg ??
Any thought of moving the stock fender higher?
Nice work on fabrication!

Long ago I was viewing photos from an add for a used SCR where someone had raised the stock fender as much as possible by simply making 4 riser straps out of polished aluminum bar stock and fitted them to the existing fender mounting holes. The bottom of the straps attached to the forks and the top of the straps attached to the fender.
It looked exactly how I described it.........so I didn't bother trying to do that version either. Let me know if you come up with a plan because it sounds like we are looking for the same end result.

I may take a look this weekend to figure out a way to move it. The way you describe it sounds fairly easy.
