2017 SCR950 Delivered Today!

My "new to me" 2017 SCR950 was delivered today. It has 42 miles on it and is gray. It has been a couple of years since my last motorcycle and when I saw the SCR950 on a local dealer's site (Spring, TX area) I had to have it. I really like the styling and the Yamaha reputation for reliability helped as well.

I'm looking forward to learning from y'all and with y'all!

We need a second opinion as to whether you have also become a member of the "Wrong Way Round" front fender club.

Indeed you are.
Now the million dollar question is......
Are you going to leave it and remain amongst the elite few of the SCR950 forum?

Good question. Aesthetically it does not bother me. Perhaps it was installed that way on purpose? Maybe there is a performance benefit somehow? 😉

Well prob the only occurance from it being on backwards is,,

More crud thrown up on the front of the engine etc. etc, :grin2:

Oh! So maybe THAT'S why the grey ones are slower? Increased wind drag ? Added weight to the engine from thrown crud ? 🤔
Welcome, I also have grey, was able to fix my fender without removing the tire. Got mine back in the summer and still enjoy riding it.

Thank you. I think I'm going to do the fender fix this weekend using the "deflate tire" method.

Although I wonder if the current orientation of the fender is on purpose. Is there confirmation from Yamaha that some SCR950's had the front fender installed incorrectly?
As Eddie posted here once: “The fender, front wheel and mirrors are about all that's not already installed as shipped” so you should probably blame the dealer for the switcheroo.
Well, I just made an attempt at reorienting the front fender without removing the wheel and I could not figure out how to get it out from between the forks. SO, looks like I will be one of the riders that leaves it facing the wrong direction. I think I’m in ok company; I saw a Harley FXDR and it’s front fender was longer in the front than in the rear!
