Just saw this on Twitter.......Chinese (I think!) but being sold, at least here in the UK, under the French ’Mash’ brand. You could say it’s Reminiscent (i.e. a copy!) of the XT500, and therefore our bikes’ too.

Got a bit of Ducati Desert Sled about it too........Thoughts.....??

At first glance I like it, but something tells me it's nothing but a polished turd. Maybe it's that awful skid plate.....
I agree......It looks nice and has a old XT appeal but.............Lots of MC builders have come and gone over the last 50+ years and only a handful have survived.........Luv to see that XT wannabe in person and go for a ride however...:)

Have Mash improved their products in the last year and a half? I forgot all about these guys. They're definitely trying to go for a Ducati Scrambler look there, IMO.

Ha.....I’d completely forgot about that thread!! :grin2:

I think they’re all having to improve, to try and crack international markets, even though they’re using far-Eastern labour. Look at the recent Enfield twins - the quality far outstrips the earlier singles. Benelli: designed in Italy, but built in China, for example.

Have you seen the Fantic Caballero? That’s the other way round - engine built in China, but then shipped to Italy, and built in the original Fantic factory there (with Italian components). The reviews of it have been outrageously good.

(one such example):

I’d have one of those.......

That Fantic seems like a pretty cool ride. Man, I wish we had more mid-size options like that here in the US. It's difficult to find anything in the 400 - 800 cc range over here that isn't a dirtbike or a sport bike. Part of that has to do with a bigger-is-better-and-gas-is-cheap mentality that seems to dominate the market. :crying:

That seems to be one of the main gripes when Americans comment on the video reviews on YouTube - “we don’t have anything like that over here”.

You guys do like your ma-hoos-ive engined vehicles!! :grin2:

Here’s the Rally version of the Caballero - equally nice, me thinks.
