bags vs. panels

Here's my $30 snow day project, I popped off the left number plate and added a cheap bag from Cycle Gear ( they try so hard...bless their hearts) it was $35, but I got it on sale for $29.95. It's no custom leather pony express bag, actually it's not leather at all as far as I can tell, but the price is right. The only tough part was that I had to remove the bar that the plate screws into to get it to sit flat enough to stay under my leg at a stand still and the bolts needed a spacer to screw back in flush to the frame.

I love the bag idea and for such a great price, Perfection. My issue is that I love the number plates. I am not sure why, but I think they are one of the best design elements on the bike, even know mine popped out on the highway for no real reason.

Heck its personal choice, but those bags do look good, nice originality....

Thanks bud, I really appreciate that! One of these days when I'm not swamped with my day job and/or making leather bags I'll get out to a motorcycle dealership to take some measurements and craft a bag that will fit on the SCR's & Bolt's saddlebag bars. I'm missing out on a part of the community that wants bags with a more traditional fit.

One of these days...
