I just installed this stuff last night so I have not really ridden it yet with the air filter. I will let you know later this weekend. I have had it for 7 days already so I thought it was time to make some changes. I will post more later. Thank you. Larry

Yes my knee hits the air filter a little. Typical for twin performance air filter. I guess I am used to it since it is the same with my Harley's. now I guess I need the flash ecm and a dyno tune. I think it sounds much better. I will try to post a sound bite later.

Sorry about that. I just sent of my ECM today to be re-flashed. I will have it back in a few days and record the sound then. I think it sounds much better and not obnoxiously loud. Pretty loud and deep, but not straight pipe loud. Next week it should be ready.stand by.

If you can do a recording of it outside sitting still and then taking off that will be great. Too many people I find film in-doors and in situations that don't provide enough feedback.

It'll still be really tough to hear what it sounds like regardless, but still... who doesn't love exhaust sound videos ;)
Typically if filmed from the right angle with an okay camera, you can get a quality of video that will be appreciated. Most phones these days have good cameras, just a matter of knowing how to properly film.

While I am trying to figure out how to post a lousy video, let me tell you what I did.
I ordered the Cobra exhaust and an open air filter for a 2017Yamaha Bolt. The exhaust is made for abolt, not a SCR950, but it works just fine. You will need to reuse some of the stock spacers and bolts to shim outthe exhaust a little so it does not hit the swing arm, but it works fine. The air filter fits perfect. I have not used Cobra stuff before, but it isfine quality.
When I started it in the garage it sounded loud, but outsideit is fine, but sound is relative. When Irode it there was a noticeable increase in power and torque but it ranhorrible. So, I called Ian at Ivan’sPerformance and sent away my ECM to be re-flashed and ordered a new power commanderwith his maps loaded.
After loading the re-flashed ECM the increase in performancewas amazing. There was still somehesitation on acceleration and other minor announces. Due to travel and other distractions, I justinstalled the PC, selected the correct map, and adjusted the throttle positionsensor last week. I can tell you after itis all done, it is an amazing bike to ride. It now has much more power and runs effortlessly.
One of the installed maps is for a stock air filter andstock exhaust, so the re-flash and PC will benefit you even without the exhaustand air filter mods.
If you are interested, I can post part numbers of thecomponents I bought, I would recommend all of them. The information and products provided by Ivanwas great. It does assume you have someskills and understanding of how to install the stuff and work your way throughthe set up and adjustment phases, but worth the investment.

It took care of everything. After a long ride sometimes it takes a few seconds for the idle to come down, but otherwise it runs great. I have never been more disappointed in a stock motorcycle performance than I was when this was stock. I figured a 950 should have tons of power, but it didn't. In fact it is there, but you need to do a few things to let it out. Like let it inhale (intake) and exhale (exhaust). Also the PC and re-flash retune the motor to let it really run. This is how it should be to start with. Imagine if I could find some performance cams and do some porting.

If you can see the filter, so can dirt, stones, debris, bugs, water, etc...
Until someone sells a performance air intake that protects the filter from the elements, I'm going to hold off changing anything.
