Corbin Seat Upgrade

Well, after swapping out the side covers with the Pony Express bags, I decided I needed some color on the sides of the bike. A more comfortable seat is a nice bonus as well! I had to fab a rear receiver cuz I cut the original mount off to clear my hinged seat. Gave me a chance to have some quality ME-TIME in the garage with my new welder. What do you think 🤔? A BIG thank you to Captainknobby for a great deal on the seat and a HUGE thank you to Brother Schu for supplying the dimensions needed to fab the bracket! Jevers

Dang Jay. Not only do you have the best looking exhaust system on that bike, now you got the best looking seat on that bike! Where’s it gonna stop Jay? Is the DT400 paint scheme next?
Tempting, Schu. But if I do the color change, it will be the YELLOW variation! Jevers

I do really like those color choices on the Corbin.
Well, here she is out of hibernation. Got a quick 40 mile ride in with the temp FINALLY approaching 60°! I can say that the Corbin is an improvement over the Seat Concepts, but I think I will still take the FJR on any ride that is 100 miles or more. Jevers

I think the most I've done in a day is maybe 250 miles, give or take. I'm not going to say it was as comfortable as my Valkyrie was, but it was tolerable. I once had an FZ8, and though I loved that bike, the seat was terrible. I got the Corbin for it, but that made it only slightly less bad. It was so bad my butt would go numb at anything approaching 100 miles. The Valkyrie was like sitting on a lazy boy. That, I think, was the most comfortable bike I've ever owned. The SCR, to me is fine because I rarely put more than 200 miles on in a given day.

I really do like the way the red panel continues the lines of the tank on your Corbin. Damn fine looking bike.

I see you have a light bar for the brake light, as mine does. Did you also put signal lights on the mounting holes by the rear shocks? Edit: Nevermind, I see another picture that clearly shows you did. Smart. Those integrated tail light strips don't do a great job for signals.

Thanks for the compliment, JB McG! Yes, I like the way that the red seems to flow from the tank along the seat. I think that it needed some color since replacing the side covers with the bags, which I really like, BTW. Yeah, that led light bar was added primarily for a tail/stop light since the angle of the license plate frame makes the leds disappear. The amber led turn signals are also sequential, which REALLY gets people's attention! Jevers

Oh, and I apparently I am now including my cell phone number with each picture I post!😳 I have no idea how that happened, but it's out there! Jevers
Lol, just deleted it from the reply in case you wanted to do the same on your post. But, I think there are only about 10 scr owners in the world, so you're probably safe! Haha.

Love the bags set up so cool. What does that run cash ys. Got the corbin seat k&n air filter and after market exhaust. Have a power commander but not installed yet.
Thanks, I have been wanting to get the bags for nearly as long as I have owned this bike. They are just under $400 shipped. They are a quality product made by one of our members. Looking like you are well on your way with the PROPER ( see what I did there, Ben?) mods. Good luck and post some pictures! Jevers
No, they are actually held on with the supplied cable ties.

Really? Krixtoph provides cable ties now?
His first generation bags came with leather belt/buckle straps and leather tie strings.
The bags surprisingly left scuff marks on anything they rest against. So I added strips of electrical tape to protect those areas. I’ll try and find my photos for reference.

Yeah, I was a little surprised when I opened the package and saw the cable ties along with a note stating that Kris felt that these were more secure than the leather straps. Thanks for the tip about scuffing, I will apply tape asap. Jevers
