Just got my first tuneup done on my new SCR, I noticed that when I'm rolling off the throttle in 1st/2nd it feels like engine braking is going on. Not crazy but definitely a noticeable drag.

Typically only happens early morning / warming up time. Not sure if this is normal or something is going on. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm assuming it would have to do with the Fuel or Throttle but this is my first EFI bike so any help would be greatly appreciated

You’re probably just experiencing the rather extreme fuel cut off when throttling off that Yamaha has programmed in, in order to help reduce emissions. It does seem like (severe) engine braking when it happens.

It does take some getting used to. Others get Ivan’s reflash, which makes it much less noticeable, as he has programmed the injectors to reduce fuel input gradually as you roll off, as opposed to slamming them shut.

Welcome by the way.
