Finally changed out my original grips and went with the vintage looking grips that Yamaha used on their old Enduros that I love so much. I like the look and the feel of the larger diameter grips, and they look right on this style bike. At least I think so. jevers will like them, but Ben won't. :nerd:

So they really are appropriate for an SCR then.
Excellent.

Glad to hear from you Ben. Hope you and your family are doing well.
Good to hear from you, Schu! I was hoping that you would come back after someone finally bought all 120 smart phones! Yeah, I remember those grips! If you didn't wear gloves, they would make your hands raw the first couple of times you rode. Where did you find them? Call me crazy, but I actually like the stock grips. I tried a pair of Grip Puppies for a while and it felt like the grips were loose. Hope you and your family are doing well. I finally got out for a ride last week with a friend of mine. We are accustomed to stopping for a beer or two, but NOTHING is open. Thanks be to God the micro breweries are doing curbside sales. Picked up a couple of oil cans and a fresh warm pretzel and off to a local park. Take care and check your PMs. Jevers
Sorry, Schu, I didn't notice that link for the grips. Ebay. Where would we be without Ebay?!
I got out for a ride on Sunday with my oldest son. I raised my boys on Honda XRs from a little XR100 up thru the XR600. So it only makes sense that he now owns an XR650L. It felt so good to finally put in some miles.
I have a 70 mile loop that I often ride on Sundays that avoids the typical grid pattern roads. Some nice sweeping curves and S-curves. One really tight curve that last year claimed the life of a 32 year old motorcyclist. He came into it too fast for his big Harley and fixated on an incoming pickup truck. He was a long time EMT and probably saved multiple bikers over his career. I give that curve some newfound respect.

Good to hear from you too mate (and Jevers......I suppose!! )

Hope you are all doing well over there - the news is painting a pretty grim view of the US over here at the minute.....although, I don’t think it’s a whole lot better here, to be honest.

Stay safe all.
Ben
