Close! The paint was to cover a spot where I had a bung welded onto my new exhaust. Long story short I got an amazon gift card and decided to try a new exhaust. I got the 16" slash cut shorty muffler from dime city cycles. It was a super easy install and I've noticed a little more power. It is louder for sure but I plan on repacking the baffle with more fiberglass to quiet it a little. I mainly went for looks because the original muffler was a little bulky in my opinion for the type of bike. So far not issues. I'm a little worried about running too rich now. If anyone has any advice on how to check for that I'd greatly appreciate it!I'd like to solve the puzzle corey! Is it a painted factory exhaust?
(I'd post a Wheel of Fortune image if there was one for this)
With how it looks, some disappointment in sound is okay to meThat does look a bit interesting but I'm more interested in how it sounds! Can you perhaps get a little video for us![]()
I really like it! Total cost I spent around $100 and the good thing is I didn't make any modifications that I can't reverse if I wanted to go stock. That muffler makes the scr950 sound better than stock, smoother when you rev it too. Your neighbors just needs to develop a taste for the finer things in life.![]()
It really brings out a great sound in the bike! I have a couple ideas for some cool mods but it requires some permanent changes and I'm not sure I'm ready for that commitment haha. For a $100 that's basically a steal to achieve that sort of sound, some guys with other bikes would kill for this.
Looking forward to seeing what else you have planned
My lease ends in June. I'm outta here after that! Technically we aren't even allowed to work on cars/bikes in our own garages.Ugh seems like you live in a prison lmao. But hey, sounds good for sure. I like it.
Have you noticed any changes in performance or mpg or anything ?
slow and steady wins the race, the race meaning enjoying every step of the way with your bike to the point when you make changes, the changes are easily noticeable and thus rewarding. It really brings out a great sound in the bike! What kind of changes do you have in mind? Maybe there are other ways besides drilling into the body.I have a couple ideas for some cool mods but it requires some permanent changes and I'm not sure I'm ready for that commitment haha.
I've got the 12" and couldn't get it to fit snug, any advice?Close! The paint was to cover a spot where I had a bung welded onto my new exhaust.
