Sydro here, from NH. Congratulations everyone on your excellent taste in motorcycles! I will confess the real reason I bought mine, new, as a leftover, was it's looks. Didn't ride it, sit on it or anything. Just saw it. (plus the leftover price!) I like the old school look. I say it looks like a motorcycle not some sci fi project.
After putting 2 miles on it, I liked it, as I knew I would. I don't think they excell in any department (except maybe look) but I don't need a bike that does. I've had those. I just want something to put around on on nice warm sunny days and this is just great for that.
Enough about me. Enjoy those beautiful bikes!

Welcome! And happy new bike!
There's a lot of great stuff to be found on this forum about our SCRs and others.
Got a question, idea, ride idea, joke, etc.... Have at it!
We're a fun bunch that pretty much behaves itself.

Wait.
What are you reading my post for?
It's Saturday! Go ride!
;-)

Would have to agree with you there. Enjoy your new motorbike!
Congratulations on your new bike,
This bike has something special, the more you ride it, the more you will get attached
One step I made and never regretted that totally changed my ride was changing the stock seat with a Corbin seat.... (Attached a pic)
Game changer, as well as a windshild..
With those two you will see way more miles on your odometer....

I am at 4000 now and actually today going for my second maintenance now...

Enjoy the new bike and have a great weekend

Thanks everyone.
Harleyy_rider22, Could you tell me where you got your back rack? I'm guessing it is part of the side bag mounts, too? Also, what do you use for saddle bags with those?
Welcome to the tribe! I can concur with Harleyy that a windshield is a game changer. Haven't upgraded my seat yet but it's definitely in order.
Thanks everyone.

So I bought the rack from Fehling (a company in Germany)
And its website is www.fehling.de
They are the cheapest... Others sell it on ebay for way more
It costed me 250 shipped (rack and pannier mounts)
Took around a month or a month and a few days to arrive

I haven't bought any saddle bags yet... But I am planning to get something soon...
There are some nice (throw over) options on ebay
I prefer a fixed mounted bag with a lock...
Since I usually go for long rides and like to carry stuff with me...
This one is not bad... It also looks good on the bike

I was close to buying it but decided to go with a fixed one..

Holy frell that seat must be comfy! Dig the windshield too!...How's the hunt for rear shocks going?

the seat made it a complete different bike
worth every penny and every cent !!!
took 6 hours to make it... luckily I live 40 miles away from the factory (Corbin Saddles) so they did all the custom work on my weight...
they also let me take it for a ride multiple times before finalizing....

They also make it and ship it anywhere... I totally recommend them

as for the windshield... yeah... it really did an awesome job too... But I would pay a little more and get the quick release stock one... coz it's higher ...

shocks I need to change them, but I don't know what to buy? currently doing all research for that...

Exactly what happened with me. My son sent me an SCR link to our local Yamaha dealer and he said "You gotta get one of these." Bought it without even sitting on it. I like the old school Yamahas just like you.
Welcome to the fun.
Welcome, new guy.
@harleyy_rider22 - your Corbin is not on their website, is it? I’ve looked, and I’ll be damned if I can find it (only the one that was memorably described by someone on here as looking like an oven glove!! :grin2: )

Can I ask what sort of dinero it set you back?

Cheers,
Ben

Nop... not on their website,... all their templates look like that one on their website though... so when I went first thing I did was showing them the pictures of the desired one
turned out that its name is "gun slinger 2-up"

and they customize it according to your needs if you went there
if not (like they are shipping it to you), they would still do a great job...

I was just a bit picky... and asked them to make it one inch higher so that my knee wouldn't hit the air filter

as for the money it's for the same price $425 including tax and all

it's wonderful... I rode the bike over 500 miles since I installed it.. (like 10 days ago)

Welcome. Got mine from Derry Cycles, live near Winnipesaukee. Message me if you're ever riding around the lakes.

LOL sure asking is always possible ... can be counted with freedom of speech ... :grin2: lol
Thanks for the help. I like the looks of those bags. The price is so low it makes me wonder about quality, but they look like good stuff.
