Hey all! Long-time reader, first-time caller. I just purchased this bad boy for a nice deal at my local dealership (have been doing my research and took the MSC a month ago). Can't wait to start riding, I'm glad that there's a dedicated forum to this bike because I'm brand new to riding and motorcycles.

Welcome!
The SCR is a great deal all things considered. But it is a hefty hunk of iron, so take it easy at first until the two of you get to know each other. I have had so many motorcycles between my legs, but this one can be clumsy when you least expect it.

Welcome to the forum! It's good to see people are still purchasing new SCR's so we can keep the forum alive with some new blood.
My local and favorite dealer Team Charlotte Motorsports - 704 394 7301 (but not the one I bought mine from cos they didn't clearance their bikes till recently) has the SCR's at 3999 - and you could well fight with them some more.
Optional: Tell em Srinath sent you - Or even better -
Ask for Phil Lewis in parts or Steve Meckola in service - and neither of them being in sales - would allow you to bypass some BS, I've known these guys for 15 yrs - and they know me as a well seasoned cheapskate - that allows you to essentially side step the "start out high and slowly work down strategy" of the sales guys. Likely they would put you in touch with Rob (forget his last name) in sales. But you start at 3999 not at 5999 and fight to get to 4k.

They have a red one with missing side panels (may be sitting round somewhere else) and a crap of dust on it - you may be able to snag that cheaper.
They also have a 17 bolt with a few broken parts (T/S and some irrelevant stuff) again good arguing point.
There is a third bolt that's in not broken, but also a 17.

That's what I spied last time I trudged through there - I should have posted earlier, but didn't strike me till I saw this post now.

Cheers mate! it's a fun bike and in my opinion a great option for a first bike.

Thanks for the warm welcome, fellas! I won't hesitate to reach out and join in on the discussion. First mods i'm thinking of looking into are a modified exhaust + air intake once I get confident on this bike.

Getting rid of that exhaust is like losing a cow.
It actually helps the confidence and handling and all around well being for both bike and rider.

@Chrislodell - this is a fun bike - and this is my first bike!
