Thought about buying SC950 for gravel and dirts roads in Colorado- all 3 dealerships told me NO WAY. Said too heavy and not true scrambler - ie, looks only like a scrambler. Very disappointed in Cycle Worlds review otherwise- guess yamaha has them in their back pocket

depends on what kind of dirt roads you're planning on gong on. I think the average packed gravel and dirt road is fine, but anything with mud and a lot of bumps will probably require an adventure bike.

Be glad you found some good dealers that don't just want your money but also wants to provide a real service. Like mentioned above ADV's are the way to go for your style of riding, that's another market that's blowing up with a lot of options.
