For those who have replaced their air intake, do you have some pics of the bare intake? I ask because I have an idea.

I once had a Vstar that I played with, and one of the DIY mods was to completely eliminate the airbox. It was done with some minor changes to the carbs and adding "pods" directly on top of the carbs. Completely eliminated the airbox on the side.

So, I'm wondering if the SCR950 can do something similar. I *really* would love to thin out that side of the engine. But I don't feel like taking mine apart today to look. :)

I hate the location of the air box. My knee always hits it or rests against it. Almost didn't buy the scr950 because of it and if I sell it it'll be the reason why. It's just in a bad spot

I, too, have learned to live with the air cleaner. I'm 6'1" with a 34" inseam (if that is relevant?). I installed the Kuryachyn Velociraptor, which did little to make more room, but it looks cool, adds a little performance and sounds great! Put your bike up on blocks and dig into it! I would love to see what you come up with! jevers

I don't know if this is what you are looking for but it's the all I have to offer without taking it off. This particular air cleaner sticks out 3.75" from the mounting face of the throttle body. jevers

Me and a gazillion+ Sportster owners lived with the affectionately named Ham Can air filter.
I'm bowlegged as a bite out of a donut and the SCR950's airbox is fine for me. =)
Yeah, I’ve never had an issue with it either. I’m 6’ 2”, and can count the times I’ve knocked me knee on the air filter on no fingers!!
