So it's been two weeks and I've already had enough of getting beat up by the wind going 65mph on my way to and from work. Been looking at a couple National Cycle windshields that are said to fit the Bolt R-Spec since their price and functionality looks appropriate.

I'm interested to read anyone's insight on adding a windshield to the SCR. I'm primarily riding around 30-60min per trip but would like to do at least 3hrs on I-95 some day. I primarily wear a full face helmet and feel most of the wind in my chest and arms.

Does anyone think a mid-size shield like this https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/national-cycle-deflector-screen-dx-windshield would do the job well for what I want, or should I just go for the full size version https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/national-cycle-street-shield-ex-windshield?

Also if anyone could tell me which to choose between the 7/8" or 1" models I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for any feedback!

The SCR has 7/8" handlebars. I bought the OEM mini fairing- its great! Night and day on the freeway!
Good to know! I really like the look of the OEM fairing, but the price is a little more than I want to spend right now. Going to see if my dealership can get me any kind of deal on it though.

You know what, they do look great and suit the bike. Theyre very well made and really improve the bike. I say spend the money and get one. Riding becomes much more enjoyable over 50mph.

that will be a good thing to note for people buying these in the future since they can work to negotiate it in, much easier to get a lower price on the bike and accessories when the purchase is that big

Settled on the National Cycle DX Windshield and got to test it out this weekend. So far I'm feeling a significant decrease in drag along my arms and chest which is what I was really looking for. Considering getting the larger model as well for longer trips on the interstate since they use the same mounts.

I went with this exact one with a 7/8" fitting. https://shop.revzilla.com/motorcycle/national-cycle-deflector-screen-dx-windshield

It was available for the Bolt R-Spec so I figured I'd take a gamble and see if it would work. A few hundred miles and no problems so far.

I just got mine from Fed Ex today. Fit great and was easy to adjust. I went with the same size as you did. Looks good on the bike! Way less money ($93.00) Can't wait for rain to stop to test it out!

I've been looking for the mini fairing, but haven't had any luck. All I can find is the big adventure one. This headlight bezel seems to have it in the picture but that's the closest I've come. Is this the one you have?

Actually, I might have found it on Amazon.

I really hate handlebar-mounted windshields, but I will admit that's a really nice look. Still think I'm going the numberplate route though.

I like the oem one. The mounts went on pretty easy and I like being able to detach the windshield when I want to. The windshield
Isn’t the biggest but it’s not too bad.
