I'd installed a pair of KC HiLiTES brand Flex model LED spot lights on the Super Tenere last year and really like them. The 1st night out, I was running high beams only and the road was clear. I switched on the added LEDs and immediately saw two deer on the shoulder ahead. Money well spent!
Anyhow, I talked myself into an early Christmas present to myself and put a pair of the spot beam lights on the SCR950 the other day. The trim ring around the lense is gold from the factory. They sell different color rings to one's preference and I got some red ones.
I wired the lights so that fused power from the battery runs through a new handlebar switch (left grip side) and then through a waterproof relay that's energized off the (+) to the headlight's high beam circuit.
Bike off or low beam on? The switch does nothing.
Bike on and low beam on, the flash to pass switch activates the high beam and the LEDs momentarily. Go to high beam on and the new switch on and the road 300+ meters ahead is awash in LED goodness. :grin2:
The new lights are just 10 watts each for a total draw under 2A. The bike's electrical system hardly knows they are there.

(snip) Just noticed the cover piece you've added to the back of your speedometer, looks great!
Thermos lid repurposed!
At about $14, it was cheaper than the rather uninteresting Yamaha cover and fun making.

Ingenious! I think it's great when people add cool custom touches to their motorcycles. So what's next? Got your eye on any 2018 motorcycles?
Thanks!
I really wish Yamaha would get off the fence about the T7 and bring something like it to the US. Until then, I'm happy with the XTZ12 and the SCR950. =)
