I did respond to the original post here but somehow it ended uo under "Forward Controls"...?I believe @flatrack installed bar end mirrors, though you'll have to ask him for a link to the ebay listing. http://www.scr950forum.com/forum/138-yamaha-scr950-scrambler-general-discussion/2026-tires-tyres-tires.html#post24306
Looking at photos and such, there was a lot I wanted to change cosmetically with the SCR, but now that I have it I'm much more inclined to keep it close to stock (so far I've only removed the side panels). I do like how the mirrors look, but it's just that at 55mph+ they are vibrating like mad and it's almost indistinguishable what I'm seeing.Personally like the retro circular look with them sticking out. Yard Built used an under hanging mirror, though I have no idea where they got that one.

I've actually started to notice that the mirrors are vibrating less. Might have been heavy early on because of the break in period?Would bar end weights help with the mirror vibration?
I drilled and tapped the stock bar inserts and then installed a set of SV650 bar end weights I had around. Look great. Absolutely useless toward mirror vibration. LOLWould bar end weights help with the mirror vibration?
I installed 7/8" x 34" flat ttrack bars. Very similar to oem bars except black and no crossbar. Bar end mirrors are 3" round universal type ~ $20 from china. Used precision razor to cut off grip ends, used dremel to open end of plastic throttle tube. Mirrors are friction fit - mount by expanding inside bar ends. They've held up well so far and less vibration than stock ones. What bars did you fit? And why did you have to Dremel the throttle side (shouldn't they be 7/8th at both ends?!)
How is vibration without the OEM bar weight inserts?
That's wider than the stock bars which I find to be painfully wide on long rides. You must be Sasquatch.I installed 7/8" x 34" flat ttrack bars.
That's good to hear, at least. Have you got any pics of it on here? I'll probably go with Renthals (the factory is only 30 miles from here!), and I saw they also fitted those on the Super Hooligan Flat Tracker as well, and looked pretty good. I don't want to take the look and feel too far from the standard bars, as I quite like em!!I installed 7/8" x 34" flat ttrack bars. Very similar to oem bars except black and no crossbar. I find pretty much Everything painful on long rides. I make a great riding companion provided you like to stop for a break every half hour. That's wider than the stock bars which I find to be painfully wide on long rides.
Yes, its true. The physical similaries are uncanny, the lifestyle as well I suspectYou must be Sasquatch.
Renthals seem a popular choice. The bars I fitted aren't much wider than stock, maybe an inch, my SCR isn't here to measure. No, no pics, I need to figure out how to do that on this thing.Have you got any pics of it on here? I'll probably go with Renthals
