Yamaha Motor USA collaborated with Yamaha Music USA to come out with this SCR950. i'm surprised this isn't done more often since they're both Yamaha. Now if only they'll upload a side profile picture instead of just a angled frontal shot.

Looks like it has the same paint as the Yamaha Bolt from Greg Hageman a few years ago, just without the white tank decal.
We can't forget those sweet boots sitting beside it there. I mean... come on. ;)
You might find it at events or wherever enthusiasts of Yamaha musical instruments can be found but outside of that there's little relevance for these two to be together. It's cool and all but doesn't support Yamaha's bottom line to the masses. What we will see instead on a mass scale is the typical Yamaha motorcycles display going from show to show and hopefully test rides.
I mean.. it doesn't need to support anything really. It's just a real fun collaboration. Still provides a fair bit of exposure as well because now the people interested in Motorcycles will see it and the people that love the Yamaha music brand will see it, and you're reaching a different set of people to try and entice them too
Doesn't look like much was changed from the base model to the more music orientated one aside from a coat of paint. Still an interesting collaboration between Yamaha and Yamaha...

I just found a short article about this and it seems like the parts you see were just painted gold and pinstriped for the 2017 National Association of Music Merchants show. Not really the place for performance modifications.

Cheap price to pay to get all that attention from a specific crowd.

I bet with some research Yamaha discovered that the guitar crowd digs motorcycles. Odds are if you were to poll a big sample size of riders you would discover a good portion are into guitars.
Wouldn't doubt that at all ^

They'd choose to bring bikes to venues that have actual value and purpose opposed to taking this to something like comic con.
