Hi everyone, I'm not an Scrambler owner but I do own a Bolt and I am in need of a favor. Recently I noticed what I can call misting or sweating along the seam on the crankcase right next to the dipstick. It's a thin/faint line running along the seam after the bike has been running for 30 or more minutes. Im not sure if it's oil, moisture or grease being let out by the gasket and if it's normal or not. I have cleaned it before riding and shows up after it's been warmed up good..My bike is 2015 and has 2500km and I just recently noticed this.
Since we have the same engine i thought I'd ask if anyone else has noticed something similar and hope you would help me by taking a picture of your engine (seam along the dipstick). I have attached pictures to show what I'm talking about. We are investigating in the Bolt forums as well. Thank you in advance!

Have you retorqued the side cover bolts to spec? Have you pressure washed that area a little too close? Or maybe peeled or scraped off some excess silicone? Just spit balling here. I had a similar experience with my VTX and I learned to live with it. I didn't want to take the side cover

Sorry to hear about your "long" commute! MY commute is 3 minutes each way, 1.1 miles or 2.2 miles round trip. Couldn't help myself, sorry! jevers🤣
Ah yes, but on nice days I'm sure you have an alternate route for the ride home. I know I do. It takes me about an hour and I keep Michigan waterways and shoreline on my throttle side all the way.

Yeah, I've seen similar....

Nobody has touched this engine but the professionals, which I am not. I couldn't tell you what the issue is. This photo was taken in February when it went in for service, and it has had more service since. It seems to have abated, if not gone away entirely since then.

Kinda sounds like a commute I had back in the 80's. 19 miles one way, unless I picked up a 12 pack of beer for "when I get home " and I happened to be driving my '69 Mercury Marquis convertible! There were quite a few times that the 30 minute drive took hours and I had no beer for "when I get home "!🍺😉

Never done any of those things, just started by itself. The interesting part is it started after my second oil change and after winter storage...maybe the weather and sitting has something to do with it.

Both my girlfriend's 2012 V-Star 950 and my SCR950 have the tiniest trace of oil along the case cover seam.
It's barely noticeable and hasn't gotten any worse over 16K / 7.5k miles each.
We can run them all afternoon and the amount never really increases. Some times it shows up, other times it doesn't.
To me, it's not worth a new case cover gasket & Yamabond to try & fix it.
