Thanks for the tip on the stock tire shortage, I'm sure this news will be helpful to some. I think I'll be switching to Micheline Commander III's when the time comes, though. I've heard great things about them.
New Tires: Stock Bridgestones
Yeah, so I recently got another SCR a few weeks ago. Had a new one when they first came out in '17. Traded it in and got a brand new Honda '14 (1 mile) CB 1100 shortly afterward. Liked the Honda, but the SCR is a lot more real; gritty, powerful, lots of torque -- you know the engine's running. Well at any rate I traded that to a dealer here in (Northern) Michigan for another Scrambler. Had just under 5 thou in the mileage department and the fellow who previously owned it slapped some Metzeler 888s on it and I would not really recommend those quite frankly to anyone (just my humble opinion). The front tire was either not balanced or the wheel weights came off somewhere along the line. Could be the tire or tube was a bit funky possibly. Was able to get the original Bridgestone Trail Wing (is that one word?) tires online and got a great deal on the last rear one in stock from Dennis Kirk. There are a few of the front ones out there, but I think the rear 140/80R 17s are becoming increasingly more scarce. I have found them to be great tires. They were also the stock tires on my Suzuki V-Srom DL-1000 and I really loved those tires back then on that bike as well. Strangely enough, Yamaha chose to put a bias tire on the front and a radial tire on the rear. Both of course require tubes due to the spoked wheels. There aren't too many radial motorcycle tubes on the market, but Dennis Kirk also stocked the corresponding Bridgestone tube. Had the front tire mounted and balanced last Saturday (Beautiful! Rides like new!) and having rear one mounted and balanced Friday. Tube and rim strip just came in today. Just a heads up to all of the SCR 950 community: If you wish to continue running the stock tires on your Scrambler check the market out now and secure an auxiliary set of tires while you can. I do not believe that Bridgestone is manufacturing those tires any longer, (correct me if I'm wrong) and the prices are getting up there a bit if indeed you are able to find the tires . . .

Had an '03 Sportster and replaced original Dunlop tires with Michelin Commander tires after about 7,000 miles. The Commander tires were great. I put over 7,000 on the Commanders and they were still pretty darned good when I sold the bike with just about 15k miles. Michelin were excellent tires and one of the best handling set of tires I have had. I have had I think like 15 bikes. I have liked Michelin and Pirelli among the best. P.S. nice cigar. Got to be a Churchill... Lol.
That's reassuring, thanks for the honest feedback/review! I also have an Indian Scout, and the stock tires are among the worst I've ever experienced.
