For those of you who aren't a fan of the side number plate but still want to show off the 950, maybe this tank idea is a better alternative. It's not bad looking and even has the black and red theme. Thoughts?

I'm not too sure... it is a nice alternative, but now you have a blank oval canvas sitting awkwardly with nothing on it lol. Maybe if I had something to put there, this would work out.

The tank isn't the problem, that odd looking windshield is. Why is it just plain black? Looks like someone pulled a number plate from the side, painted it plain black and slapped it onto the front instead.

Holy **** I was so fixated on the tank I didn't even realize that. What the heck is going on there ? That's all sorts of wrong.

They made it look like an afterthought, just something to cover the front and call it a day. There are so many curved windshield options out there, but maybe that's a part of the aesthetics that I just don't understand.

Also looks like they stuck on a wider tire in the rear.

The wider tire does look nice. But I really think if they left the front without the windshield, It would have looked a lot better. The upswept exhaust does look nice though

I wouldn't stuff a larger tire than suggested on a small frame like the scr950, could lead to scraping between tire and fender over bumps and it's harder to turn corners.

Rip that fender off of there and replace it with a custom one make a modification to make an excuse for another modification

No excuse for mods needed. Looks like they lifted the front fender already, so the rear one is probably lifted too.

Weren't some journalists complaining about the scr950 suspension travel? Think they switched out the suspension system there or left it stock?

The great thing about only riding when its nice out is you can rip off fenders like this without any guilt. I only ride in the rain when I get caught it in by no intention of mine, rare situation.

Riding in the rain with no fenders is terribly crappy. But all in all, I think this bike is great, just that darn windshield gives it a sour taste

Some people may remove the rear fender for a cleaner look, but they end up with the strip of mud on their back or at least the rear passenger will.
Looks like they added some kind of gauge too. There's something silver (reminiscent of a meat thermometer) sticking out from the front windshield.

Only one mirror, that would make me miss the other one. I use them pretty often to keep an eye on what's going on behind me and turning my head around that far would take me eyes off the road.

That one mirror offset thing would bother the heck out of me too.. honestly more-so because I have a huge thing for symmetry lol

Eventually it will be Google Glass type of vision that will let you know whos beside and behind you.

Already some serious advances are being made in the motorcycle industry, one being tech that prevents you from leaning over too much and possibly falling.

Definitely, look at the Skully AR-1. Rear view camera, HUD, turn by turn directions, etc. Things are progressing beautifully ! Just a matter of how much these will all cost now.

I feel like the hud helmet is just too distracting, especially when you need to stay focused and concentrate on your surroundings. What I think is a blip on the helmet could be a little critter running across the road. Old school side mirrors for me please!

I feel the same way, especially after seeing this video of what it looks like. It's something that would really distract the heck out of me
