I got mine out of the living room today. Took it for a ride. Before I put it up, I stopped and topped off the tank. I over filled it.
When I got home and put it on the stand, I had gas coming out the bottom near the kick stand. I siphoned some gas out and it stopped. Must have some kind of overflow that bleeds off the gas when you put too much in? It wasnt leaking from the cap. I think its coming out of a hose. ???

that is so weird... I always... over fill mine before I get home from a gas station that's like half a mile... and park it right after on the stand... and it never leaked... !!

had a bike before that would leak if I put it on the side stand.. (from the cap)
so i used to put it on the center stand when I over fill it...

It certainly fits poorly enough to perform that function!!
Ben
LOL !! It most certainly does!

My bike isnt here so I cant investigate...

At the risk of gratuitously repeating myself, I am building a custom gas tank for my SCR. I am using a slightly damaged one from a Yamaha Bolt as the base. I need to know if the tank requires a "vented" cap. Thank you in advance to anyone that can tell me!

Hey does anyone know if the SCR gas cap is a "vented" gas cap?
I dont know. But mine is heavy duty and fits real well. When I hugely overfilled the tank and put it on the stand.... the gas ran out the bottom. See diagram above. Nothing leaked from the cap or around the cap. Doesnt mean its not vented. My guess is that its vented. Maybe under the key opening?

Yeah maybe...not sure, my bike ain't here. It's good to know your cap didnt leak though.
