Its been said that less than 300 SCR950s have been sold in all of North America. With clearout prices to be had that number will surely increase. I havent heard the total production numbers yet but am curious to know how many have been produced. This makes the SCR950 a very rare bird indeed. My hope is that this forum doesn't die along with the bike and am hopful that membership will increase and people will continue to contribute to the threads. One good thing is that the Yamaha Bolt is a very successful motorcycle so parts for our SCRs will be available for a very long time. Also aftermarket parts for our bikes continues to grow which means the sky is the limit in terms of modifying and customizing

It's hard to say how many SCR950s have been sold so far because unlike cars, motorcycle companies aren't really required to publicize their sales numbers. 300 in North America seems very small compared to other models, so running across the same bike would be rare.

Assuming all 300 bikes are evenly distributed across all states and provinces, that's an average of around 5 SCR950 per location. Perhaps that'll raise the resale price down the road.

There must be some sort of interactive map we can use and post on this forum to help display the distribution of members. I remember seeing something similar on other forums.
Yeah maybe, thing is not every person who bought one is on this forum. Also I kinda doubt the serial numbers are sequential as Yamaha uses the same chassis and motor for the R-Spec and the C-Spec.

EDIT: (not sure about this, as I think about it I seem to remember mine starting with S-C-R ???).

Can't blame you. Best bang for the buck, and they are fun bikes.
