How can I remove the seat?
Open the right side panel, then you will find a philips screw underneath, unscrew it, then move the seat a bit to the back (to get it off the front hooks) and that's it

Mine has a 10mm(?) bolt holding the seat in place, not a Phillips screw and I'm pretty sure I access mine from the left side.

maybe they were out of 10mm when they assembled mine so they cheaped out... lol

The parts diagram shows a 10mm head bolt from the left side is removed to take the seat off after removing the left side panel.
The blind nut that the seat bolt screws into is welded to the far side of a tab made onto the sub frame.
Anything (like a Phillips screw?) attached to it via the right side of the bike was likely an absent-minded shop mechanic's doing. =)

my bad everyone .... I mixed it with the allen head bolt that is holding the tank, because last time I took the tank off to keep the wiring underneath it (for a power outlet in the handlebar) I got confused

and yes, after looking one more time it's a 10mm accessed from the right side !

I was bout to ask the very same question, but this old thread did the trick. 10mm on the right-hand side, then.
