Just a tiny bit of personalisation, I always thought the black side panel needed something, I ordered two vynal stickers from eBay I'm thinking hellfish on SCR and swordfish on v-strom.

I am well impressed, and good too know I'm not the only one with two much time on my hands.
But seriously it is a space that needs filling.
I added the Rutgers University (my alma mater) Scarlet Knight mascot to my side panel.

Very cool.
Nice! As an alternative you could scrap the entire side fairing and replace it with some leather. Just sayin'.

Hey Krix!
Good to hear from you again. I clicked on your link and I must say I like the latest design better than my early version. Mainly the reshaped flap. Great stuff, and I hope you are keeping busy with your leather craftsmanship.

Thanks for the feedback! I've learned a lot over the past few years designing other bags for the Yamaha Bolt, Yamaha Stryker, and now prototyping bigger traditional-style saddlebags for my Indian Scout. I realized on the SCR950 bags that 1) the flap was a little small and didn't always sit in the right place, 2) there was no inner flap to keep the elements out, and 3) those pockets, while they looked cool, were rather nonfunctional. This new design is more stable, more weather resistant, and more utilitarian.

The leatherworking biz is on the up-and-up, and definitely keeping me busy. In fact, I was just highlighted in the NashvilleVoyager as a new small business in TN (I relocated from Chicago in Aug btw)!

Anyway, I'm happy to see this forum still alive and well.

Well I have enjoyed the input to my little post...... but after a month I have to accept th a my stickers WILL not be arriving from e bay and I have been given a refund.
The fighting hellfish was grandpa Simpson's world war two unit and the swordfish was the insignia from the conning tower of the u boat in the brilliant film das boot.
So might look for new ideas.
