Mostly out of curiosity, what differences (if any) are GPS owners seeing in the indicated speed vs. GPS measured speed?
I don't normally ride with a GPS, but I zip tied the hand held Garmin I use for hiking to the handlebars the other day and saw about a 3-3.5mph deficit of displayed vs. GPS.
Example: 58/59mph indicated - 55mph GPS
I ran it up to GPS 70mph and the speedometer read 73mph.

The error is somewhat commonplace with the bikes & cars I've owned and not so great that I'd want to invest in a speed healer or larger front pulley to correct it on the SCR950. It could be far worse. My Moto Guzzi Breva 750 riding friend had a speedometer that read grossly slow. Her husband warned me not to let her lead as we'd soon be doing 10-15 over the legal limit without her knowledge. :grin2:

Yeah, you’re seeing about the same differences I did with the OEM speedo against a Garmin. TBF, that seems about standard against all the bikes I’ve had recently. I’ve dialled the Koso in to read the same as the sat nav exactly now. Downside? I don’t have a 2-3mph buffer now when going thru a speed camera - when it says 30, it is 30!!

Thanks, Ben!
I guess we're lucky around here. (Georgia, USA). No speed cameras and relatively generous officers. 5-10 over? Not worth them getting out of the air conditioned patrol vehicle in 40C+ roadside air temps to write up a citation, I guess!

Ha, yeah, I guess so!:grin2:
Over here, police budgets have been cut by so much you rarely see a traffic officer by the side of the road - I’d be pretty unlucky to be pulled by one of them. The issue is the static cameras - there’s lots of urban myths about many of them being out of use due to lack of funds (but obviously you never know!!). Similarly, rumours persist about them being calibrated differently from county to county (which is never that far here, compared to the US!) - ie, some counties give a 10% leeway, some 5%, some none!! H*ll, I took the SCR to another country yesterday (OK, it was only Wales!) - God only knows how theirs are set!
