From what I’ve read on the bolt forums people like them. I’m still considering one, but it’s not very high on my personal list of mods.

I have one similar to this mounted atop the upper triple clamp. It's not too big and has the useful accumulated hour feature.
Installation was a breeze: Pick a mounting spot and attach the unit with the included double-sided tape.
Next, simply run the one wire down to the front cylinder's spark plug wire, wind the end around the plug wire, secure with a bit of tape and you're done!
There's a small button in a recess on the back of the one I have to set the sensitivity.
One should probably do that engine on before sticking it down with the mounting tape.
I didn't, but got lucky in that respect. =)

I like it, but functionality wise, I think the Koso TNT-B is a bit better. It's also nearly $400 dollars though. Replaces the standard display on our bikes with Tach, Speed, and everything else you'd expect. You can change the color too, my buddy put one on his Bolt and I've been wanting one for my SCR ever since.
