If you had seen my recent posts, you know that I just bought this bike, along with a bunch of mods.

This year I do plan on being very active on and with my bike!

Instead of hijacking posts like I have been doing (sorry!) I thought it might be best to just start a new post, and update as I will.

Here is what my bike will have on her when I pick her up:

Vance and Hines V02 Air Intake
Cobra 4" Slip On
BoosterPlug
Continental Trail Attack 3's
All Balls Front Bearings

Once I take her home I will install the following myself:
Corbin custom seat
FOBO Bike 2 Tire Pressure Monitoring System
Denali Soundbomb horn on the Bolt bracket, using Plug and Play harness
Kenwood STZ-RF200WD Motorcycle "Dash" Cam
Quad-Lock cellphone mount kit including handlebar mount and anti-vibration module

As I had mentioned, my bike is in storage now, so no pics of it yet.

All I have are the items I will be installing myself. Take a look at the stuff I will personally install once the bike is in my possession:

For what it’s worth... it’s never too late, or in your case too early, to do whatever you want to do. There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change it or keep it stock. There are no rules to this thing. You can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you do things that startle you. I hope you feel things you’ve never felt before. I hope you see bikes with a different point of view. I hope you build a bike you’re proud of, and if not, I hope you have the courage to start over again.

If I ever replace it with your quote, I will credit your handle at the bottom, lol

Your forum name was the first clue. Then I saw the bottom of the framed quote by F Scott Fitzgerald in your photo and well, the rest came easy. :geek:

I didn't notice the signature in the first pic. I thought it was a total cosmic fluke lol!

I would have been mightily impressed if you had that quote loaded up just from my forum name, although the fact that you even made the connection tells me you are my kinda people 👍

Edit - added second paragraph

Re: FOBO 2 TPMS valve stem caps, on the side of the box it says:

WARNING!!! Ensure sensor clearance with vehicle parts is 10mm (1/2”) (rubber valve) & 5mm (1/4") (metal valve)

Automotive tire Gadget Camera lens Audio equipment Tire

For those with easy access to their bike, do you think these valve stem caps will fit? I don't want to open the box until I know, but I might want to return these if they don't fit.

They should fit/work just fine, they look similar to the ones I had on mine. Jevers

Re: Footpegs, I think I settled on these, Kuryakyn Riot X Footpegs, with the appropriate adapter.

They are similar to the Yamaha Adventure Pegs, except better looking IMO

The rubber in the middle is removable, which is a cool feature.

What do you guys think?
I think they will look good on the SCR.

... and I ended up ordering a set of Genuine Yamaha Adventure Pegs from a Yamaha dealer in Italy, via eBay. It ended up cheaper than the Kurry's when you add the adapters. I also could've ordered it from a Yamaha dealership near me, but they didn't have it in stock and it would have been only slightly cheaper that the ones from Italy, and that's only because I expect to pay 13% tax and 8.5% duty from the Italian order.

... and just like that, I am without Adventure Pegs ☹

The seller cancelled the order for some BS reason. I have contacted the seller asking for a better explanation, we will see if he or she answers.

After this issue I may instead try out the stock pegs for a while first before switching out.

I replaced my foot pegs with cheap, aftermarket pegs that fit Yamaha FJR1300 bikes and other Yamaha models. They work well. I like them. I really didn't like the stock pegs. Here's a random ebay listing as an example:

Tha is for the info! I've seen these around, and I wondered how they would fit.

I found a really cheap pair on Amazon that I'm going to buy right now, in the hopes that they fit as well as yours did:

I bought an extra plastic fender, in case I was going to mutilate the original plastic fender for my DIY fender eliminator I will be building

Well the part came today, and I was looking at the mounting holes:
Wood Bicycle part Tool Automotive exterior Bumper

Once I saw this I thought that maybe I wouldn't need to cut this up.

My new idea is to simply make a flat metal bracket and drill four holes in the same position, and weld a license plate bracket to the flat bracket. I would then screw that plate into where this plastic part is supposed to go.

Without seeing what this part mates to (my bike is still in storage), does anyone have insight if the idea above would work? For example, are there weird ridges I would have to worry about when it came to making and mounting my metal bracket?

Quit dicking around and go order the Adventure Pegs from your Yamaha dealer. You will be pleased with them and you will have supported the dealer! Win. Win! Jevers

Don’t know if this helps at all, but this is what’s under the steel fender once you remove the the plastic extension. The 3 hole pattern is the rear light cluster. The four

You convinced me to try! I will call them to see the wait time. They are a good dealership, so I wouldn't mind supporting them.
