Well , not on the 1200 mile mountain ride level, this is what we have been up to...

The Route 1066 Cafe, good coffee, on Saturday on the way to Iden , near Rye

and , of course, just down the coast from the Nature Reserve is Dungeness nuclear power station....then off to...

Then back to the 1066 Cafe where i got talking to the owner of this 1969 Bantam, he had done 47 miles to get there at an average speed of 27.5 MPH!

and when he got there the bolt for the side stand sheared...

Lamberhurst.. those are Oast houses where they used to dry hops for beer, now mostly converted into sordid little gaffs ( stately homes!)...

the ruins of Bayham Abbey, founded1207, dissolved in the 16th century... the Bayham Straight is a lovely ride , 5 miles of straight undulating B road through woods... not to be driven fast at dusk or dawn due to deer... I lost a car to deer strike not far from here...

Then through Groombridge, when a plume of steam by the railway bridge made me stop, the Sir Keith Park , a 4-6-2 Battle of Britain class 1947 steam loco was just pulling out...
Then home, and beer , and a rest!

The British Black SCRs look good. Still partial to the Rapid Red of course......
