Just seen this on Twitter - looks like our bike has been usurped as Big Yam’s XT tribute....:|

I really like the paint scheme! I got a chance to briefly ride a FZ7 while my FZ9 was in for tires and the 700 twin is a great little engine.
In fact, I almost wished I'd gotten it instead of the triple except the twin wasn't out yet.

I wish Yamaha would make another 500cc or bigger dual sport bike again.
I'm too short to ride a XL650R Honda (with it's dinosaur of an engine) and am no longer on speaking terms with Suzuki.
Kawasaki had the KLR650 until this, the final year. Already had one of those.
That leaves Yamaha and me longing for a T7. Word is it'll be a 2021 released in 2020. =(

I saw a T7 in the flesh (metal) at the bike show a few weeks ago. Didn’t have a close look, got to admit (not my thing really), but I thought it might be here a little sooner? They’ve teased it for years, now....

My old man tried the Tracer 700, and really raved about it. He still went with the 900 though - he’s still “bigger is better”!

I have an 2017 fz07 and really love it.
xsr700 is cool looking too.
Totally agree on Yamaha making a 500cc Dual Sport. That would be a blast to ride and would sell if the price point was right. I'm 5'11'' and I found the XLR 650 a little too tall. I think what drew me to the SCR950 is that it reminded me of the dual sports I rode (or my friends parents rode) in the early 70's.

Hopefully we can get a nice 500cc Dual sport on the market that does not look like a moto-X bike, but rather something we can identify with from our past
