Not a bad price and at that price range they should be able to scoop up a good portion of the bike buyer volume out there. At least for now they're not charging extra for a specific color.

I think the price is pretty good too. The Ducati Scrambler is starting at $7,130 USD though, how do you think that'll affect sales ?

One local dealer quoted me $9192 less tax & tags which would make it $9492 in Delaware.

There are always dealers who sell volume and will discount the price. Some dealers want to retire on your purchase. Volume dealers get a better choice of models and of course the number of units which attracts more customers.

Another reason to shop around and not just settle with what one dealer offers. Will be interesting to finally see what prices people are paying out the door and who these dealers are.

Another dealer just gave me a quote of $10.2k out the door. $750 more for the same deal. You really got to shop around.


The odd thing is fall is just around the corner. Not sure why mama yama released this model so late in the season. I wonder what the price will be come November?

Yeah although you have to show your serious, going in, even with deposit money in hand. Over the phone they'll more than likely not be as receptive.

Oh yea for sure. You can't just call them and expect to get anything good because they won't take you for real. Walk in with a presence of I don't need to buy this because I'm getting a better deal somewhere else, let's make something work, at that point, you can get somewhere.

Even better if you go in during a year end clear out since the whole negotiation process can work slightly better in your favor. Take advantage of those times.

Those are golden times.. sometimes I'll even go in to dealerships around that time to see what offers I'll get

If wherever you live has a winter season, that time is the best time to buy one since they're going to try and move sales when riding season is over.

Winter season is ideal for buying just about any automobile as sales are much slower around that time.

Got mine for $6999 + 50 Doc fee here in Vancouver Washington. This was a great price. I checked throughout the US and only found 1 dealer that had the 950 SCR at $4999. This dealer then added a $1700 dealer "admin" fee which was BS.

Wow, that's pretty sketchy of them. Wouldn't want to deal with them even to save a few hundred dollars. Still, what you got was below MSRP, probably because the SCR950 has been out for a while already.

I have seen a dealer price sheet and without giving anything away, those prices aren't making them any money at all.
The margin is really slim on these bikes.

That's what you really have to look at I think. As much as we all want great prices and everything, at the end of the day you gotta understand it's a business and they do need to make money. I'm not saying to go out and get gouged or anything, but you gotta decipher what's a fair price and what just doesn't make sense.
