Has anyone ridden the XSR700? Is this a good machine? Seems like a cool bike to customize...I'm not normally a fan of inline twins but I find myself really liking the looks of it, radiator and all.

I have ridden the chassis/engine source FZ-07 and it was a fun bike!
Can't wait for them to ADV that engine into a mini Super Tenere!

On the radiator:
I think I'd have to paint the face of it black. =)

That’s the funnest bike I’ve ever ridden on the street. And the best bike/engine in its class hands down. The torque, the lack of weight, plus the short wheel base makes the bike super easy to wheelie, similar characteristics to a supermotard. Of course I’m talking about the fz07 which has the same engine.

The after market industry is insane for fz07/xsr700 like the cult classic sr400/500.

Practically all the big name customizers/shops have had the opportunity to put their spin on the xsr700 two-three years ago.

Xsr700 is my next bike for sure

I'm thinking the same thing... love that long headlight...AND all the customization options! It's interesting that the XSR700 and XSR900 are similarly priced. From what I gather, the XSR900 is a little too squirrelly and unpredictable, while the 700 is more balanced and manageable...I do prefer the sound of a triple though.

Yes that T7 is tantalizing, if the production model looks like the concept bike I'm sure they'll sell a boatload...

I traded my XSR900, cos I would probably have killed myself. That’s just me though.

No, I hear ya! It seems like 100hp+, the short wheelbase and upright riding position do not make for a great combitation...like you have to be careful or the front wheel is off the ground. There are times when it would be nice to have that burst of power at your fingertips, but for everyday riding I think for me (at my age) it would become a burden and an unnecessary risk factor.
